Fittopia Fitness Center is one of the first gyms in Canada equipped with Arsenal Strength machines. Arsenal Strength is a premium equipment brand manufactured in the United States, designed for serious lifters who want a commercial quality that exceeds what most gyms provide. The gym floor includes a full free weights section with dumbbells up to heavy loadings, a selection of barbells and squat racks, a comprehensive cable machine setup, and a range of isolation machines for every major muscle group. There is also a dedicated cardio floor, a functional training zone, and a separate posing room used by competitive members and anyone who wants to check form on video.

Peak hours and when to come

Like most commercial gyms, Fittopia Fitness Center sees peak traffic during the evening hours, typically 5 PM to 7 PM on weekdays. If your schedule allows it, training between 10 AM and 3 PM on weekdays typically gives you the most space and equipment access. Saturday mornings from 8 AM to 10 AM are also popular. The gym has key fob access outside of staffed hours, meaning you can train as early as 5 AM on weekdays. If you value a quieter environment and have flexibility in your schedule, an early morning session is worth trying. Many members find they get more out of training when it isn't crowded.

Coaching options

Fittopia offers three ways to work with a coach. In-person personal training is available with a team of certified trainers, most of whom are currently accepting new clients. Sessions are booked directly with the trainer after an initial consultation. Online coaching allows you to work with a Fittopia coach remotely, with a customised program and regular check-ins. If you are in Richmond but have a busy schedule that doesn't align with a trainer's availability, online coaching bridges that gap. Physiotherapy with Winston Yeung is also available on-site for members dealing with pain, injury, or movement dysfunction. Details on all three are available on the website.

How to get started

The easiest way to start is to come in and see the gym in person. Fittopia is located at 7951 Alderbridge Way in Richmond, BC. Staffed hours begin at 9 AM daily, and anyone is welcome to walk in for a tour. If you prefer, you can book a guided tour through the website. Membership options include a flexible month-to-month plan and annual options with better per-month pricing. If you are new to training or returning after time off, booking a session with a personal trainer before you commit to a membership is a good investment. You will leave with a clear plan and the confidence to actually use it.
